A PP airless jar is a dispensing container, primarily made from Polypropylene (PP), that uses a mechanical, propellant-free system to protect its contents from air, light, and contamination. Unlike a simple tub, it features a complex internal mechanism that ensures the product is dispensed without letting any air back into the container.
The "airless" name comes from its ability to prevent air from contacting the product. Here's how it works:
Dispenser Head: The user presses down on the pump head.
Piston/Diaphragm Lift: This action engages a mechanism that pushes a flat piston (or a collapsible diaphragm) upwards from the bottom of the jar.
Product Ejection: The rising piston pushes the entire product mass upwards, forcing a precise amount out through the dispenser nozzle.
Vacuum Seal: As the product is dispensed, the piston creates a vacuum behind it. This prevents air from being sucked back into the container, effectively keeping the remaining product in a pristine, airless state.
Visual Analogy: Imagine a syringe. As you push the plunger, the liquid is forced out the front, and no air gets in behind the plunger. An airless jar works on the same principle, but the "plunger" is a disc at the bottom.
